WORKSHOP: DE-MYSTIFYING NATURAL & ORGANIC COSMETIC STANDARDS

OCT 14, 2009
Singapore Expo

Natural & organic cosmetic standards have become en vogue in the beauty industry. European and American companies are the early adopters, whilst Asian companies are in danger of missing out on the eco-labelling wave. Targeted at an Asian audience, this workshop de-mystifies the plethora of natural & organic cosmetic standards and highlights their formulation issues.

Workshop Overview
This workshop aims to educate and train Asian companies on the major natural & organic cosmetic standards and their practical implications. The workshop will begin by giving an overview of the global market for natural & organic beauty products, highlighting the major trends and developments. The workshop will then focus on the various standards and eco-labelling schemes.

Details of the major natural & organic cosmetic standards in Europe, North America, Asia-Pacific and other regions will be given. Standards to be covered include Cosmos and NaTrue in Europe; NPA, NSF and OASIS in North America; as well as private standards like Ecocert, Soil Association, BDIH and IBD. The formulation and raw material issues are examined, as well as adoption issues for Asian companies. The interactive workshop involves practical exercises for product developers, formulators and ingredient companies
