cosmetic standards have become en vogue in the beauty industry. European
and American companies are the early adopters, whilst Asian companies
are in danger of missing out on the eco-labelling wave. Targeted at an
Asian audience, this workshop de-mystifies the plethora of natural &
organic cosmetic standards and highlights their formulation issues.
Workshop Overview
This
workshop aims to educate and train Asian companies on the major natural
& organic cosmetic standards and their practical implications.
The workshop will begin by giving an overview of the
global market for natural & organic beauty products, highlighting the
major trends and developments. The workshop will then focus on the
various standards and eco-labelling schemes.
Details of the major natural & organic cosmetic standards in Europe,
North America, Asia-Pacific and other regions will be given. Standards
to be covered include Cosmos and NaTrue in Europe; NPA, NSF and
OASIS in North America; as well as private standards like Ecocert, Soil
Association, BDIH and IBD. The formulation and raw material issues are
examined, as well as adoption issues for Asian companies. The
interactive workshop involves practical exercises for product
developers, formulators and ingredient companies
